The Exploratory has been providing educator workshops at preschools and elementary schools in Los Angeles since 2012. In the summer of 2013, we introduced Making For Educators, an initiative designed to help educators from preschools to high schools bring Making into their classrooms. We introduced our online Making For Educator Symposium in July 2013 to 26 Educators. For 6 weeks, we gathered online and had conversations about 3D printing, Maker Spaces in schools, Girls and STEM among others. The educators used the materials of their Make-It boxes to make projects in response to narratives provided by The Exploratory.
We will continuing these Symposiums in the fall of 2013 by meeting monthly at The Exploratory to continue our conversations.
We are using 2 different meetup.com groups to schedule these monthly meetings.
