Fall Festival

PS#1, an independent elementary school in Santa Monica, CA asked The Exploratory to bring its activities to their Fall Festival. We brought 5000 building blocks which entertained infants to teenagers as infants explored the wood and its properties and the older children climbed ladders to build 6ft tall structures. We also had our Wind Tunnels with upcycled materials for the children to use to create a contraption that would shoot up the wind tube or hover for as long as possible. Those that were satisfied with their contraptions pinned their creations onto boards to inspire others. It was a blast to see parents pushing the kids out of the way to test their designs. To celebrate the fall colors, we brought in sun prints on silk to create banners. The children painted with special paints and used natural materials to leave imprints and messages.
