40th Anniversary Celebration
PS#1 invited The Exploratory to entertain its guests for its 40th Anniversary Celebration. They were expecting around 700 people of all ages. Alumnae with their young children, teenagers, and of course the current students and their families.
We chose a theme of time to go along with the celebration. We brought the Wind Tunnel and the Free Fall where the goal was to create a contraption that would hover the longest in the wind tunnel and fall the slowest from the Free Fall.
For younger children, we brought Make Your Own Tops. Compasses, scissors, hammers and nails were all available to explore balance.
Using images of architecture in Los Angeles spanning the 40 years, we created a building zone with ladders and citiblocks.
In each of these areas, we created the opportunity for the children to build creative confidence by sharing their work which in turn inspired other children.
